Why We Built Connect
How many people are in your phone’s contact list? Hundreds? Thousands? Now — how many of them have you talked to in the last six months?
Most of us accumulate contacts the way we accumulate browser tabs: endlessly, with good intentions, and with no system for actually managing them. We meet someone at a conference, exchange info, and then… nothing. Important relationships fade not because we stop caring, but because we don’t have a system.
Meanwhile, the tools we do have — Apple Contacts, Google Contacts, LinkedIn — are built for storage, not for maintaining relationships. They’ll tell you someone’s email address but not that you haven’t spoken to them in eight months.
We built Connect to fix this.
What Connect Does
Connect is a native macOS app that turns your contacts from a static address book into an active relationship management system.
Bring Everything Together
Import from Apple Contacts, Google Contacts, and LinkedIn with smart deduplication. Connect matches contacts by email and name similarity, lets you review potential matches, and merges them cleanly. One database, one source of truth.
Organize Your Way
Tags give contacts color-coded labels — Close Friend, Client, Mentor, Board Member. Lists group contacts into curated rosters — Holiday Card, Board of Directors, Conference Attendees. Both support follow-up cadences: “reach out to close friends every 30 days.”
Track Every Interaction
Log emails, texts, calls, Signal messages, LinkedIn interactions, in-person meetings, and notes. Import your Messages.app history and call log automatically. Each contact builds a timeline of your relationship.
Know Who to Reach Out To
The Follow Up view surfaces contacts who are overdue based on your cadence settings. The Contact Prompter steps you through them with quick-action buttons for calling, emailing, and texting. Focused outreach, not guilt-driven scrolling.
See How You’re Doing
A dashboard shows your contact freshness distribution, weekly interaction volume, activity lanes, and outreach streak. It’s an honest picture of how well you’re maintaining your relationships — and motivation to do better.
Clean Up at Scale
Contact Sweep lets you review your entire database one contact at a time, assigning tags and lists at 1-2 seconds per contact. Find Duplicates detects matches and gives you field-level merge control. Export to CSV, vCard, JSON, or SQLite backup at any time.
Your Data, Your Device
Connect stores everything in a local SQLite database on your Mac. There’s no cloud sync, no account to create, no company reading your address book. You can export everything at any time in multiple formats. If you ever want to leave, your data comes with you.
